Introduced to black & white photography at age 16, Susanna learned various darkroom techniques including fundamentals of black & white photography, lithographic film, portraiture and flash photography. She fell in love with this type of artistic expression and later learned color theory, color negative processing and monoprinting in color using lithographic sheets.

Susanna realized this was where her true passions lied, and decided to further her studies in college by moving to Sydney and attending the Sydney Institute of TAFE majoring in Photography. Studying photographic composition & design, on-location techniques and continued practice with black & white, slide and color film. The curriculums  main focus was on commercial photography using large format cameras and studio lighting.

After two years of studying, Susanna traveled from Australia to Europe, which was a dream come true. She traveled through European cities exploring her own photographic techniques. Her travels enabled her to develop her own unique style and approach to photography.

Having visited almost every major city in Europe, Susanna moved onto digital photography and the world of digital imaging. Relocating to the United States with her husband and founding Tantric Tones Photography in Denver, Colorado during 2007.

Susanna has recently moved to the city of Santa Barbara in Southern California, which she now calls home.
